Who is Manu?

I am a full-time firefighter and a certified breathwork facilitator.

More importantly, I’m someone who uses these tools to manage real-life pressure: on stressful night shifts, after back-to-back emergency callouts, and when the kids are driving me crazy.

My journey with breathwork didn’t start in a studio. It started on the job.

Like many frontline workers, I hit a point where the shift work, sleepless nights, and constant mental load were catching up with me. I felt disconnected from myself, unable to slow down, always moving from one task to the next.

One day, I happened upon a breathwork workshop where I connected with myself and a sense of peace I had never experienced.

I immediately knew I wanted more of this for myself.

As breathwork became a greater part of my life, my sleep improved, my focus sharpened, and I cultivated a genuine sense of calm that I carried with me in the firetruck and at home.

The impact on my life was so positive that I was inspired to share these tools with as many people as possible and have been doing so passionately since 2019.

As a certified graduate of the Breath Mastery Program, I have facilitated breathwork and wellness sessions across Fire and Emergency NZ, evolving wellness within a hardened culture where we typically put our health last. I have also spoken at conferences, brought breathwork to forward-thinking workplaces, and facilitated workshops in studios, retreats, and festivals.

What I offer is practical, science-based, and for people who don’t have time for fluff. These tools have been tested under real-world pressure, from emergencies to fast-moving workplaces to managing a busy calendar, and are designed to help you with burnout, create calm, reduce stress, and feel more human.

I’m so happy you’ve found your way here.

Let’s breathe, reset, and get on with it - one breath at a time.
